In 2010 as a lover of all things arty, I decided to try my hand at making traditional mohair teddy bears. This was initially to raise funds for a charity close to my heart. Over the past 12 years requests for my teddy bears have grown.
To me the gift of a teddy bear can be a symbol of love, affection, congratulations or sympathy and a way of expressing love towards a person whether that may be an adult or a child. A donation to Macmillan Cancer Support (www.macmillan.org.uk) will be made from the sale of every bear so that they may continue their vital work to support those and their families living with cancer.
My beautiful teddy bears are all 33cm in length; the traditional jointed heirloom ones are made from mohair and are hand-stitched with love and have gorgeous English glass eyes. These teddy bears are to be admired from afar on a shelf in order to be handed down through the generations to come. The alternative would be my cuddly bears which are hand-stitched with no cotter joints and safety eyes, these are intended to be squeezed, played and cuddled by the recipient.
All teddy bears can be made from variety fabrics ranging from traditional mohair, faux fur, linen, wool (colours can be sourced) or a fabric of your own choice.
My clientele are worldwide from United Kingdom, Gibraltar, New Zealand and South Africa to name but a few.
